Minty Must Know: Makeup Expiration Dates

The FDA does not require cosmetic companies to provide expiration dates on beauty products but they do expire and the side effects can be grueling. Be Aware! 

Here are a few shelf-life examples that will give you a better idea of your make-up essentials;

• Mascara 2-3 months: When it starts to look clumpy and smell, get rid of it!
• Concealer/Liquid Foundation  6-12 months: Toss it, if the color starts to lighten or separate into layers.
• Powder Foundation, Eyeshadow, & Blush 2 years: Expired powders are prone to be more flaky & dry.
• Lipgloss & Lipstick 1-2 years: If your lipgloss is extra sticky or your lipstick seems dry without moisture, it is probably that time.

Don't forget to clean your make-up tools! Invest in a cosmetic sanitizer and brush shampoo to keep applicators free of germs and breakouts.

This time around the first lady chose designer Jason Wu from the previous Inaugural Ball four years ago. I personally love the dress but believe that another designer should have gotten a chance. But then again, as a woman, you know what you want and how you want to feel when you put on your best. She looks beautiful nonetheless.

Minty News: My Golden Globes Picks

Hey Guys and Gals! Did you have a great weekend? My weekend was pretty mellow filled with new beginnings. How about the Golden Globes, did you get a chance to watch? Here are my favorite picks from last night. The always beautiful Ann Hathaway in Chanel Haute couture. Daniel Craig and Rachel Weisz in Louis Vuitton looking amazing, I swear they're one of my favorite hollywood couple. 

 Here is the adorable Kelly Osbourne in Zac Posen, I love that she always stays true to herself. Lucy Liu is looking gorgeous in one of my favorite designer's Carolina Herrera.

 Okay... so if your on any social network sites I'm sure you've seen Jennifer Lopez in Zuhair Murad haute couture. She looks really beautiful, she's fit and curvy in all the right places, just stunning, but I kind of wish she wore something else, it's typical JLO to me. But nonetheless she stole the show and won without winning an award. Also congrats to an amazing actor Don Cheadle for winning Best Actor in a comedy Series.
