Minty Looks: Michelle Obama at the Inaugural Ball

This time around the first lady chose designer Jason Wu from the previous Inaugural Ball four years ago. I personally love the dress but believe that another designer should have gotten a chance. But then again, as a woman, you know what you want and how you want to feel when you put on your best. She looks beautiful nonetheless.

Minty Must Know: Barbara Bui

I wasn't familiar with Barbara Bui, but while browsing Women's Wear Daily I came across a few images from her Pre-Fall 2013 collection. I was pleasantly surprised as I reviewed her previous work. Turns out she has been designing since 1987, (the year I was born, haha, go-figure) according to NY Mag. She was born in Paris, France and  has a master's in English literature and background in theater. She is known for her off beat femininity and clean lines with cultural and ethnic inspirations.
Check her out website here, They're having a 50% OFF SALE!
Your Welcome :)

Minty Trend: Buckle Ankle Strap Boots

Hey everyone! How was your holiday?
I had an okay Christmas, grateful for family and blessings.

Okay, now for shoes! I have noticed a few street style site's featuring open ankle strap booties, and I'm guessing this will be a hit for 2013! The first photo displays a woman wearing the Balenciaga Buckle Ankle Boot, a very similar version can be found here. I am more for the high heeled ankle strap boot, like the bottom right photo. This particular boot is from Zara and it's on SALE right now for a very reasonable price. Check it out! What do you think of this trend? Are you into it?

Minty Looks: The Holiday Party

Hey ladies and gents!! If you're a little unsure of what to wear this holiday season, Dsquared2 Fall 2012 collection has options for almost anyone who wants to be a little edgy and chic.

1. Are you on a budget? Pick a fancy velvet or metallic blazer that can jazz up any outfit.
2. If your hanging out with friends this holiday, wear jeans maybe! But...spice it with a classic trench with rolled sleeves and your favorite pins or brooches from 2012.
3. If attending a holiday party at the office, a pencil skirt and comfy sweater would be perfect, classy and comfy.
4. This new year's eve, instead of a fancy dress, why not try a form fitting pant suit with contrasting lapel and sparkling pumps. Try it! You might steal the show.

Trust Me :)

Minty Trend: Two Tone

Lately I have been seeing this trend evolve and although it might be super simple, that's what I love about it. Black and white are two very classic colors and they obviously go well together. Below King B (Beyonce) ;) and Kim Kardashian show us how they wear this two tone trend. Here and here are a few style options for the fashionista's like me who like to get the look without dishing out too much "Guap" (cue Big Sean) haha! Hope you guys are having a great week.

Minty Looks: Thanksgiving Day

Well hello beautiful! I hope you are all doing well wherever you may be. I'm now living in Florida and I am loving the weather. :) But i'm totally missing my "moon man" (my babe) back home in NY. *sigh*

Any who, I have family here so we will be having a pretty decent size Thanksgiving dinner this year. I'm not sure if you even celebrate it but if you do not, please just enjoy this outfit post. :)

Look 1 is my favorite! A mix of sexy and comfort.
Look 2 is way more casual and relaxed, mixing my two favorite prints this season.
Look 3 is for my girls on the east coast that wants to be warm but still stylish.
Look 4 is obviously without the layering of look 3, more skin, but still classy.

Which one are you feeling? What will you be wearing on turkey day?
I hope you guys enjoy the your holiday! xoxo

Thanks for visiting, until next time!

Minty Trend: Knee-High Socks

Hey guys, I hope all is well!

Don't get me wrong I like the autumn season, beautiful leaves and pumpkin donuts and lattes, but I don't care for the cold air. I would rather wear shorts, denim shirts, and dresses without layering. Too much layering tends to make me look frumpy, not a good look. But since I live in New Jersey, it get's fairly cold. So if you're like me, here is a trend that will help keep you warm without doing too much layering and still keep you stylish.

Are you Ready?

As the summer is winding down, I start to prep for fall. If you live on the east coast you know we are experiencing warm days and very cool nights. With that said, it will be getting a lot cooler sooner than we expected. With kids going back to school and beaches starting to look scarce, fall is in motion. For me that means Fall Fashion!

Last fall the trends included oversized scarves, sweaters and beanies, with mustard and rust hues. This time around we will be seeing cozy knits, funky patterns, quilted fabrics, statement collars, and pops of color with navy and wine undertones. As far as the shoes, the classic pointy pump with cropped trouser's and sporty pieces will make a statement. Ankle and riding boots will be carried over from last fall with loose casual looks. Although new trends always arise, it is up to the everyday fashion forward individual to make it work. Check out the pieces.
